HELMET
COOLING
Purchase 2 mini PC fans and attach them to 9v batteries, mounting one in front of the chin
and one at the forehead, also pierce several small holes in the side eye decals. You can
add switches to the fans if you wish and mount them on either side of the inner lip of the
helmet.
THROW
VELCRO AWAY
The major thing
you'll notice after wearing the armour is that the velcro is useless, basically the
combination of heat and sweat will eat away at the velcro glue. Replace the velcro with a
snap system for superior attachment, cement all pieces that can be slipped-on. Change the
shoulder velcro for cable-ties. The only pieces that shouldn't be cemented are the rear of
the shins!
CUSTOMISE
THE PARTS
It will be hard to bring yourself to do this BUT YOU MUST cut all panels to make them fit
YOU!!. The backs of the legs normally need trimming, also the bicep and forearm pieces!!,
use an x-acto or stanley knife, make your cuts then simply break along the cut, the ABS
will just snap at the weak point!
ATTACH
THE CANNISTER
If you don't do
this, someone is gonna steal it for sure!, normally a bolt straight through the cannister
and the belt will make sure that it goes nowhere!
CUT
THE GROIN PIECE
This is a must!, just trim following the natural line of the groin plate, then simply
break!!, re-attach it by drilling several small holes along the piece (corresponding to
the stomach piece), then thread small cable-ties through!
IF
TOO TIGHT - AD SHIMS
If a piece is too
tight fitting, simply add some strips of ABS, this is known as a shim, if it has to be
curved to fit properly, simply put the sheet in an oven for 5 minutes until flexible, then
simply re-shape!
